BISMARCK (January 11, 2024) –– EcoBalance Global, a premier provider of carbon storage solutions, received $162,000 in grant funds from the North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission (APUC) last month. The funds will go towards EcoBalance Global’s project that captures and stores carbon using regenerative grazing practices implemented by diligent ranchers. The practices were guided by geospatial mapping technology and products are traceable with our blockchain database. 

The grant from APUC aims to accelerate research and development of new and expanded uses for North Dakota’s agricultural products and highlights the active role of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture in fostering agricultural innovation and supporting rural communities. Headquartered in North Dakota, EcoBalance Global leveraged its partnership with Open A Angus Ranch to launch its first proof of concept carbon removal project in Belfield – the proof-of-concept project was completed over the last three years and will be the first of many projects using the EcoBalance Global Livestock Framework.

Recently, EcoBalance Global announced results of its proof-of-concept carbon removal project. This project at Open A Angus Ranch was recently issued 4,364 carbon credits on the BCarbon registry for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere with a technology-driven Soil Carbon Sequestration and Storage Framework concept. 

Some of these credits will be inset and used to create Eco-Smart protein products that are sourced from sustainable land management sites across the globe. The registry’s blockchain allows for transparency and flexibility when offsetting or insetting against carbon dioxide emissions. 

The APUC grant will be used to expand and enhance EcoBalance Global’s Framework in North Dakota, as well as to other states and countries.
