The international community is convening in Dubai for the 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28). The event offers a critical platform for world leaders and key executives to align on net-zero priorities and reaffirm their commitment to reducing global carbon emissions.
One industry that will be in focus is agriculture and in particular how to decarbonize essential protein sources, such as beef. If in the past conversations about global food and agriculture were relegated to the sidelines of top climate summits, this year promises to be different. No longer a fringe topic, efforts to promote sustainable protein production, low carbon-emitting smart agriculture and water savings will be a significant new focus.
